USTA, UNADA and CropLife have collaborated to form the Agricultural Inputs Platform coordinating stakeholders to support the growth, innovation, and performance of the sector. Our goal is to help Uganda’s farmers have a choice of high quality inputs (seed, fertilizers and crop protection products) available every season, reliably and on time.

This website includes databases, highlighted below, which we are making available to sector participants and supporters. Comments and suggestions to improve this platform are welcome.

Inputs Industry Directory

Sector collaboration and innovation frequently depend on knowing who to tap for expertise. The Inputs Industry Directory (IID) is a curated listing of sector participants in Uganda ranging from financial and technical service providers to equipment suppliers. The IID is searchable using key words.

Uganda has a long history of breeding improved crop varieties. Working with NARO, UNSCS, USTA and private sector participants we have built a searchable database for these varieties. In SeedChoice, you can use filters to search for specific varieties, licensees, levels of commercialization, altitude of adaptation, and more.

The majority of agricultural inputs for sale each season is marketed by agrodealers. Working with MAAIF, we have developed a database of agrodealers in Uganda that is searchable by town, subcounty, name, and distance from a key point.

Appropriate use of approved agrochemicals makes a significant contribution to higher yields.  Working with MAAIF we have developed a database of agrochemical products certified in Uganda, their registered suppliers, and intended uses.
